The Lodge used to be a redundant building at Parrock Lumb Cottages, it has now been fully adapted for disabled use with the support of Defra and the European Unions Connect Tourism promotion.
Set in the approaches to Parrock Lumb Cottages, The Lodge is Southwest facing and has ramped access to the front and rear doors with seamless glass walls and stainless steel handrails.
Both doors open externally and allow wheelchair access to the ground floor.
The ground floor is open plan with a kitchen area , dining and seating areas, leading through oak double sliding doors to the master bedroom, with a 5 foot divan on a legged base to allow hoist access.
Ample wheelchair space is made on both sides of the bed and a sliding door leads to a fully tiled wetroom with support for the less able with handrails and a shower wheelchair is available.There is a dual shower outlet so you can sit or stand in the wetroom. Here also the sink can be lowered to suit all needs.

There is a full hoist system that supports up to 20 stone in the bedroom, and a standard sling is available for use with the hoist.
In the living areas , a leather sofa is lined up to allow perfect views through the full height glass windows and the wall mounted 40 ” TV is directly opposite. Alternative armchairs can be placed in the window to enjoy the hills and vistas.Or the wheelchair user can go really close to the full height corner glass.
The kitchen has oven, ceramic hob , fridge freezer and an array of pots to cook up a feast if you wish or telephone for a takeaway to make the most of your relaxation time.
The hob and sink are available lowered electrically to suit different height requirements please tell us your needs.
At the entry, a staircase with seamless glass and stainless steel handrail leads to a second larger bedroom which is ideal for couples providing space, luxury, privacy behind oak doors. There is an adjoining bathroom with shower over the bath and wc and handbasin for a relaxing soak.

Both floors have underfloor central heating from a gas boiler allowing constant hot water and endless warm floors.Our Green Tourism award at Bronze level notes the high insulation values of the build but for practical terms its warm and cosy.
